Field Hockey led Greg Gephart to cities across the globe, learning more about the game and perfecting his knowledge to be passed down to young athletes here in Texas. Starting in 1986, Greg taught and coached at the Kinkaid School, where he created a connection with USA field hockey and the AAU Junior Olympics. Through his experience at the high school level of hockey, he was able to build a relationship with Duke University, where he was an assistant coach from 1992-1994. Following his Duke career, Greg joined Longstreth sporting goods to direct the field hockey division. He was able to travel to places like Pakistan, India and Europe to gather even more hockey knowledge and return to Kinkaid in 1996. Greg continued to teach and coach athletes until 1999.
The Greg Gephart Fund for Youth Field Hockey was created in memory of Greg’s dedication and passion for the game and youth athletics. Every year a field hockey clinic raises funds to support the GGF. This year, the clinic will be held on February 10th and 11th at the St. John’s School in Houston, TX. Nationally ranked college coaches will be present. Players can expect personalized instruction from coaches ready to share advanced field hockey knowledge. You can register online here
